Police Are Twice As Likely To Sexually Assault You And Five Times As Likely To Murder You

[written by an ex cop]

IT’S true!  According to the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting statistics, between January 2010 and September 2010, 31 kops per 100,000 committed homicide and 73 committed sexual assault. In comparison to 100,000 of the general population (this includes blacks, whites, Mexicans, gang members etc) only 5 citizens committed homicide and 29 committed sexual assaults.

If you have a choice to mingle with a crowd of 100,000 kops or 100,000 citizens, it’s more dangerous to hang out with the police.

I’m still amazed at the number of Americans (mostly the older) who still trust persons wearing a uniform of authority.  The older demographic was brainwashed so well they do whatever their preachers, police officers, politicians or judges tell them to do.  It’s this “authority worshiping” and blind obedience that led America to its current police state that houses 25% of the world’s prisoners but contains only 5% of the world’s population. Our parents and grandparents were duped into giving away our freedoms for a pretended security.

Police are the Greatest Threat to the American Public

When We Gonna Wake Up…..Americans are Oppressed, Too

Police in the US now rival criminals, and exceed terrorists, as the greatest threat to the American public. Rogelio Serrato is the latest case to be in the news of an innocent person murdered by the police. Serrato was the wrong man, but the Monterey County, California, SWAT team killed the 31-year old father of four and left the family home a charred ruin.

Man Arrested for Photographing Police Officer Who Came Into His House

Police in several U.S. states have begun arresting people who videotape or photograph them using a creative legal interpretation. The ban and arrest come after the capture of recent police brutality incidents, such as the beating of William Cardenas in 2008.  (Source: YouTube)

Man Charged For Covering Head During Police Beating, VIDEO LINKS INLCUDED

Unfortunately, one of the most common things the cops do, with the "in-justice" system's complicity, is beat someone up. Then whether the victim moves, covers his head, or even just takes the beating without doing a thing, the cops say the victim is RESISTING!   --Redwood Curtain CopWatch

Cop Arrests Man for Filming, Confiscates and Deletes Videos (other videos included here)

Another day, another case of abuse of power by cops unwilling to have their public police activities filmed by passersby with an iPhone, Android, or any other video recording device. This time around, we bring you the story of a Connecticut man who was recently arrested by New Haven Assistant Chief of Police Chief Ariel Melendez for the alleged crime of “disturbing the peace.” According to reports, Luis Luna was convicted of the crime after being approached by Officer Melendez, who asked Luna to stop using his iPhone to videotape police officers breaking up a fight on College Street. Luna also claims that the officers involved in the incident proceeded to delete the videos that he had just recorded with his iPhone.

Buried Alive, But Fighting On

A Letter to Friends from Lynne Stewart

In the best-selling Steig Larsson trilogy, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played with Fire, and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest, the heroine, Lisbeth Salander, a hardwired, brilliant young computer genius is shot and presumed to be dead, but is actually buried alive by the antagonist. He is a prototype of the cruel, greedy, misogynistic, exploiter. She claws herself out of her premature grave and, indomitable and focused, defeats him. Finally by the end of volume three she has triumphed—using her own brains and, relying on her friends and comrades—over the entire corrupt corporate, governmental, military power structure that had been trying to oppress and suppress her, her whole life.

The 2010 LA Pico-Union Rebellion

Monday, Sept 20 2010    Contributed by:Frotchie
On September 5th, 2010, Manuel Jamines was murdered by cops. LAPD Rampart Division police gunned him down, in broad daylight and in cold blood, at the corner of 6th and Union Ave in Pico-Union, a working class neighborhood in LA known for its Guatemalan and indigenous population. Manuel was a 37-year-old indigenous man from Guatemala working as a day laborer in the US. He didn’t speak English or even Spanish very well, and he had three small children in his home country. The pig who shot him, Frank Hernandez, was notorious in the community as a violent, racist, unpredictable hazard. Locals call him El Pelon, or “The Bald One.”

A video showing Philadelphia police officers beating a man for nearly two minutes has taken the internet by storm. The incident is so shocking that the video has received thousands of views and has also sparked an internal investigation by Philadelphia police. The incident occurred in West Philadelphia and is two and a half minutes long. The officers are accused of attacking 29-year-old Askia Sabur outside a takeout restaurant in the area on Friday. What is also interesting is that most of the officers appearing in the video are African American, reminding us that the power of the state is not just a white and black.

U.S. Soldier Imprisoned for Releasing Video Of U.S. Military Slaying of Iraqi Civilians: VIDEO & PETITION included

Bradley Manning is the U.S. soldier now in a US military prison in Kuwait who has been arrested and charged with two violations for releasing classified information (the Wikileaks "Collateral Murder" video) and facing 54 years in prison. He is being held in isolation from the outside world - with no contact with his civilian attorneys working to defend him.

If the allegations are true, Bradley Manning is a hero for bringing to light the realities of the crimes being committed in the U.S. occupation.

We call for his immediate release and that his attorneys be allowed to talk to him.

Are CAMERAS the New GUNS?

In response to a flood of Facebook and YouTube videos that depict police abuse, a new trend in law enforcement is gaining popularity. In at least three states, it is now illegal to record any on-duty police officer.

Even if the encounter involves you and may be necessary to your defense, and even if the recording is on a public street where no expectation of privacy exists.

The legal justification for arresting the "shooter" rests on existing wiretapping or eavesdropping laws, with statutes against obstructing law enforcement sometimes cited. Illinois, Massachusetts, and Maryland are among the 12 states in which all parties must consent for a recording to be legal unless, as with TV news crews, it is obvious to all that recording is underway. Since the police do not consent, the camera-wielder can be arrested. Most all-party-consent states also include an exception for recording in public places where "no expectation of privacy exists" (Illinois does not) but in practice this exception is not being recognized.
