Local Cops Ready for War With Homeland Security-Funded Military Weapons
Submitted by copwatch on Sun, 01/01/2012 - 11:25pmA decade of billions in spending in the name of homeland security has armed local police departments with military-style equipment and a new commando mentality. But has it gone too far? Andrew Becker and G.W. Schulz of the Center for Investigative Reporting report.
Dec 21, 2011 Nestled amid plains so flat the locals joke you can watch your dog run away for miles, Fargo treasures its placid lifestyle, seldom pierced by the mayhem and violence common in other urban communities. North Dakota’s largest city has averaged fewer than two homicides a year since 2005, and there’s not been a single international terrorism prosecution in the last decade.
But that hasn’t stopped authorities in Fargo and its surrounding county from going on an $8 million buying spree to arm police officers with the sort of gear once reserved only for soldiers fighting foreign wars.

Maricopa Arizona Sheriff's Bomb House: Mistaken Identity, Two Victims Severely Injured and One In Jail
Submitted by copwatch on Sat, 06/18/2011 - 7:42pmI want to report an incident on January 13th 2011 of excessive force and false arrest of Brian Schelske by Maricopa County Sheriffs Office in Arizona.
Warrant # 8W 2011-000327.
The house was bombed with concussion bombs in military fashion at 3:30 am as if bombing the enemy. A tank rolled over the cyclone fence.
The two victims of police harassment were marched out with hands over their heads half naked. The 59 yo woman was made to stand naked with just panties breasts exposed, hands tied behind her back in the cold for 30 minutes. There had to be 15-20 cars lined up along the road for the display of public humiliation.
The woman was not arrested but has a perforated eardrum and is suffering from depression and PSTD after this horrific incident.
The man, a former mental health patient, does not even remotely fit the description on the original police report. The woman was off work on disability after a fall but worked as a Renal Dietitian and faculty at the local community college. She was also a Nutritionist on the Navajo Indian Reservation for the WIC Program.

Arizona's Governor,Jan Brewer (of SB 1070 notoriety) is Heavily Connected with Corrections Corporations of America
Submitted by copwatch on Fri, 10/15/2010 - 11:07pmJan Brewer & CCA: Making Prejudice Profitable
by Nick Jiles
For many Americans Arizona’s recent hate legislation, SB 1070, has ignited a firestorm of polemics, raising issues about the miserably archaic and ineffectual nature of our current federal immigration system, the scape-goating of the excessively pigmented during times of economic crisis (where have we seen that before?) and the suddenly cliché cry of state sovereignty. But as Arizona struggles to close a projected budget shortfall of nearly $ 2.6 billion both Senator Jan Brewer and some her closest aides have come under fire for their lobbyist ties to one company that stands to undoubtedly benefit from the “brown-while breathing” legislation known as SB 1070, CCA (Corrections Corporations of America). CCA, the largest private prison corporation in the country, currently operates 6 facilities within Arizona, 3 dedicated to housing inmates from Immigration Customs and Enforcement (I.C.E.).

To the Original Peoples of the Fourth World and all International Press Services:
At high noon today US Army helicopters of the US Seventh Cavalry air division attempted to land their Blackhawk aircraft upon Lakota Sacred Burial grounds in South Dakota. The presence of military aircraft from this unit... See More is a sad and insulting reminder of the slaughter of more than 300 American Aboriginals on December 29,1890 when soldiers of the US 7th Cavalry gunned down more than 300 Aboriginal Minneconjou Lakota refugee children, women, infants and the elderly at what is now called Wounded Knee in South Dakota Indian Country. The military then left the bodies of their victims to decay unburied in the driving snow.

VETO APARTHEID BILL SB 1070! Callout for Massive and Ongoing Non-Violent Civil Disobedience
Submitted by copwatch on Wed, 04/21/2010 - 10:27pmStudents and Community Members Chain Themselves to Arizona State Capitol
ARIZONA’S APARTHEID STATE CALLS FOR A STATEWIDE AND NATIONWIDE CALLOUT FOR NONVIOLENT CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE!
“Today we are chained to the Capitol, just like our community is chained by this legislation.”
20 April 2010 Phoenix, AZ —Nine students and community members chained themselves to the doors of the Arizona State Capitol today in protest of SB 1070, blocking the east entrance. They are calling for a national movement to employ nonviolent civil disobedience as the next phase of the Immigrant Rights Movement.
SB 1070 passed in the Senate and is on is scheduled to be signed by Arizona Governor Jan Brewer. SB 1070 is sponsored by Russell Pearce and passed through the nation’s most extremist legislature—Arizona being the engine for all anti-migrant legislation in the country, with at least eleven states poised to follow suit, if Brewer signs this bill.
