Full Probe Demanded Into EPD's Entrenched Culture: The Erosion of Law and Order Behind Humboldt County's "Redwood Curtain", by Jackie Wellbaum April 2011

Dear Redwood Curtain Cop Watch,
Does ‘Dereliction-of-Duty’ Just Happen Serendipitously?

Law enforcement personnel, police officers and department line-of-command should be held to a higher standard than civilians--not in terms of normalhuman foibles but in terms of law and order. They've gone to college in many cases, then onto the academy, taken sworn oaths, are sent annually totraining courses to keep up skills and acquire additional skills all to uphold complex laws and to work to keep communities more safe, morepeaceful. Law enforcement officers are considered 'experts' by the public and, given their years of specialized training, would be expected to understand what is right and wrong not only in spirit but by the letter ofthe law.

POLICE STATE And Yet Another Reason to SAVE RICHARDSON GROVE

You may ask, "What does saving the grove have to do with the police state?"....well....lets start from the beginning... The Interstate Highways were initially implemented by Eisenhower. How did he come up with the idea of these interstate highways? He got his grandiose plan from an army convoy he participated in, and from inspirations he got from Germany's autobahn, which he got to see because he was in the military during WWII. The history of the highways are rooted in militarization. Eisenhower's plan for the highways was even named "The National Defense Highway", this system was designed to move military equipment and personnel with greater efficiency and create a broader reach for the military.

CopWatchers Arrested in Eureka!

Last night (Monday, March 15th) two copwatchers (of the three on patrol) were arrested on Broadway in Eureka.  Humboldt County Sheriff Deputy, Joseph "Harsh" Marsh, seemed anxious to arrest anyone observing- he was not happy to see CopWatch on patrol.

The arrests were a major abuse of authority.

The cop confiscated our cameras, too.

We were released few minutes after midnight on Tuesday, March 16th.

More later.  Keep watchin'!
