A message from Troy Anthony Davis September 10, 2011
To All:
I want to thank all of you for your efforts and dedication to Human Rights and Human Kindness, in the past year I have experienced such emotion, joy, sadness and never ending faith. It is because of all of you that I am alive today, as I look at my sister Martina I am marveled by the love she has for me and of course I worry about her and her health, but as she tells me she is the eldest and she will not back down from this fight to save my life and prove to the world that I am innocent of this terrible crime.

July 8 RALLY (Eureka) TO SHOW SOLIDARITY With Prisoners Hunger Strike
Submitted by copwatch on Tue, 06/28/2011 - 3:28pmPrisoners in the Security Housing Unit (SHU) at Pelican Bay State Prison (Crescent City, California) will begin an indefinite hunger strike July 1, 2011 to protest the cruel and inhumane conditions of their imprisonment.
The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation
has been found guilty of constitutional rights violations by federal courts, and its practice of long-term isolation, particularly at Pelican Bay, has been identified by human rights monitors as constituting a form of psychological torture.
The lives of the prisoners who say they are going to participate in the strike are at great risk.

No Mandatory Internet IDs! Sign Petition
Submitted by copwatch on Fri, 02/11/2011 - 2:53amNo Mandatory Internet IDs!
Have you heard? Commerce Secretary Gary Locke just announced that he's developing virtual ID cards for Internet users -- and they could pose a severe threat to our privacy! The program's called the "National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace” and the draft proposal indicates that we'd be forced to use the IDs for any online transactions with the government, and for online interactions with businesses that use them.
If the system is fully implemented you'll have one centralized Internet identity, making it even easier to track your online activity. The government shouldn't be forcing Americans to use Internet ID cards: Will you take a stand for Internet privacy by signing on at right?
PETITION TO COMMERCE SECRETARY GARY LOCKE: The government doesn't have the right to force Americans to use Internet ID cards: You need to make sure the program maintains Internet users' rights to privacy and anonymity.

U.S. Soldier Imprisoned for Releasing Video Of U.S. Military Slaying of Iraqi Civilians: VIDEO & PETITION included
Submitted by copwatch on Thu, 07/15/2010 - 12:20amBradley Manning is the U.S. soldier now in a US military prison in Kuwait who has been arrested and charged with two violations for releasing classified information (the Wikileaks "Collateral Murder" video) and facing 54 years in prison. He is being held in isolation from the outside world - with no contact with his civilian attorneys working to defend him.
If the allegations are true, Bradley Manning is a hero for bringing to light the realities of the crimes being committed in the U.S. occupation.
We call for his immediate release and that his attorneys be allowed to talk to him.
