The Quality of Whose Life? Part 2

What images do the words "quality of life" bring to mind? A peaceful beach? A beautiful park? A farmers market full of healthy produce? In the realm of policing, the phrase "quality of life" carries different connotations. It means a veteran getting hauled in for sleeping on the sidewalk, a homeless woman being prohibited from resting on a park bench, or even brutal scenes like these from San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Fresno.

A federal grand jury today indicted a Fresno police sergeant and three former Fresno police officers, charging them with civil rights violations and obstruction of justice in the assault of a man in their custody in October 2005, the U.S. Department of Justice said.


Indicted were Sgt. Michael Manfredi, 50, and former officers Christopher Coleman, 42, Paul Van Dalen, 44, and Sean Plymale, 41.

Ah... so it seems the more I dig the more I find.. Jerry Dyer was appointed chief
after Julian Boo Boo Celeya died.

So count the victims attribated to Dyer's leadership after Boo Boo. Its been ten
years since his appointment and I count 47 deaths and those are the ones we know of...
